These two discerning sets of eyes have been gogosha favorites every since they first set foot in our Silver Lake locale, and the road from customers to friends was a swift one… we are not only in awe of their optical taste, but of their creative prowess… so much so, that their artwork adorns the walls of our home. Since first meeting Claire Goldsmith – the great grand daughter of Oliver Goldsmith – in Paris c2007, we have been huge fans of both Claire herself, and the iconic eyewear collections she helped resurrect from the dusty showcases of history. Even before Julia opened Gogosha Optique, she knew that OG was going to be one of her ‘must have’ collections.

As a continuing homage to their iconic past, and propelling Oliver Goldsmith into the 21st Century, the inspirational Claire started a ‘Bespoke’ eyewear service, and Gogosha Optique are both honored and thrilled to be one of 10 locations in the world to offer it… because we know you deserve it!

This is a short film about how a bespoke frame by Oliver Goldsmith Sunglasses is made. Using one of the last remaining factories in England – this is what HANDmade is about…. THIS is what Gogosha is all about.

So happy to finally post two of our favorite people on the planet as Gogosha faces of the day. Our amazing Silver Lake neighbors are also two of the hardest working, and inspiration individuals on the planet, running not only one of the best indie record labels DANGERBIRD, but also the PABLOVE Foundation, which changes the lives of kids affected by cancer every single day!

We stopped by our amazing friend Whitney’s store MYRTLE last night in Echo Park, where Lizzie Garrett Mettler of TOMBOY STYLE was chatting, sipping Jack Daniels, and signing books!

The Tomboy themed vintage rack will be at MYRTLE until it’s gone, so feel free to stop by the shop and take a look.  For extra inspiration, also check out the Tomboy Style lookbook on the BLOG or FACEBOOK.  The lookbook was shot nearby in Barnsdall Park by photographer Megan McIsaac and model Caitlin Dennis, and features new arrivals by Kelly Bergin, Carrie Parry, Filly, Missibaba, and ABK, plus plenty of vintage.

When Tristan told us he wanted his first glasses, “Just like mom and dad’s”, we knew we had to look to the new Oliver Goldsmith mini icons.  The collection is made up of the Oliver Goldsmith shapes we all know and love, but shrunken, and in rainbow colors for 4-14 year olds — or for adults with super mini noggins.

As mom and dad have a serious collection of ‘grown up’ eyewear from designers such as Kirk Originals, Thierry Lasry, Mykita, and of course Oliver Goldsmith, we knew Tristan already had a leg up on most kindergarten kids when it comes to his knowledge of eyewear. Sporting his Oliver Goldsmith: Lord mini icons in Union Jack (a frame originally made for Micheal Caine) now Tristan is almost ‘Too Cool For School’… and the reports of kindergarten eyewear admiration are already flowing in…
